Millennials are known for being vocal and voicing their opinions on social media, in public and now, in the workplace.
According to a survey done by the Cashlorette, chatty millennials are making the workplace more equal as it pertains to pay. It used to be blasphemous to speak about pay with coworkers, but many millennial driven companies are turning towards are more communicative work environment.
The study also detailed people 18 to 36 are much more comfortable discussing their salaries with family, coworkers, and pretty much everyone…especially compared to older generations. The comparison is evident in the study as well, as 30% of millennials feel comfortable talking about pay with coworkers compared to only 8% of those aged 53-71.
Employers have taken notice, though the study does not detail the affects on the moral or productivity nor the opinions of the employers themselves.
