These are the Signs That You’re Burnt Out

No, you’re not dying, you just really don’t want to be at your desk.

Sometimes it just so happens that you are having a bad day. Other times, it might be something much worse. If you regularly feel exhausted by your work, it is quite likely that you are just burnt out. This is fine, as long as you can recognize it and act accordingly.

Here are a few signs that you are likely suffering from burnout:

  2. Slacking off on the job. If you are not motivated or burnt out, you are likely to lack the level of productivity that you should have. You may not even notice it, but your colleagues and boss will notice if you’re slacking off, one way or another.
  3. You are frustrated and pessimistic. If you feel this way, you are likely burnt out. This one may not affect your job performance as much as sign #2, but your colleagues will eventually take note of your hidden eye-rolls. Frustration and pessimism seldom go completely unnoticed, and these feelings can land you in trouble at the workplace.
  4. You stop taking care of yourself. Picking up bad habits, letting your health suffer, and not grooming yourself as well as you once did are all signs that you are burnt out. Another huge sign is a lack of sleep, which will make all of the above problems even worse.
  5. You are preoccupied with work when you’re off the clock. This is a sign that your job is getting in the way of your ability to unwind from the stresses of daily life. Everyone needs at least a little time to enjoy alone, or with family and friends.
