What Jobs Are People Looking For?
What people are searching for on websites like Indeed, Monster and other job search websites can shed a lot of light on unemployment demographics as well as job-seeking demographics. According to Indeed.com, the most searched phrase on their website by job-seekers this year was, “no experience required.”
No experience required saw the biggest growth in 2017. Does that mean the job seeking pool is coming to bat with less and less experience? Because, it was not just a small increase over the last year. This phrase saw a 1,140% increase.
Experts don’t have an answer as to why this increase occurred, and Indeed.com only offered the thought that national publicity about the automated industry is to blame. Hurricane relief searches and marijuna-related searches also so large increases over the last year. Whatever the answer may be, more and more job-seekers in the U.S. are looking for jobs that require no experience. Maybe people are just sick of the norm!
