The Number Of Teachers Who Pay Out Of Pocket For School Supplies Is Shocking

The Federal Law requires children to attend schooling up until the 12th grade, yet teachers are the ones who end up struggling. Public school is a completely free, federally funded concept… so why do 91 percent of Maryland teachers spend their own, hard-worked money on supplies for the same classrooms that are supposed to be paid for by the government?

40 percent of teachers have a second job to make ends meet already, yet the government is making it so they can’t have the necessary materials in their schools without having to break their own wallet out? It seems ridiculous, but these numbers should be at 0 percent.

If the United States is going to impose a schooling system on kids that requires them to attend, how come that same government does not repay the staff that is in charge of making sure the future generations of this country are fit to lead? Local organizations have began pitching in to gather and distribute school supplies for the teachers that can’t afford it, especially in places like Maryland.

At the end of the day, it’s oblivious to say that students don’t want to attend school. It is the dedicated classroom teacher that makes the learning engaging and exciting. If they don’t have the right resources to do so, it’s only going to make their lives harder by dealing with the obnoxious, unengaged students.
