Enjoy little treats in moderation, don’t overspend
Over the past decade, the concept of “treating yourself” has gained popularity as people focus more on their mental and emotional well-being. While indulging is enjoyable, it’s crucial to practice moderation to avoid overspending.
It’s essential to remember that a treat is meant to be something extraordinary that brings joy. Some individuals tend to justify unnecessary purchases as treats, leading to excessive spending. However, constantly splurging on frivolous items isn’t treating yourself, but rather just shopping.
While I appreciate treating myself occasionally, I always ensure that I only spend money I already have. If my essential expenses like bills and groceries are not covered, it’s not the right time for indulgent purchases. I might even take on extra work to earn money specifically for treats, ensuring it is within my budget.
It’s acceptable to treat yourself to something nice within reason and at a sensible cost. However, indulging daily can result in a cluttered home with unnecessary items while neglecting crucial essentials like food and utilities.
