How To Protect Yourself From Fraud

What You Need to Know About Identity Fraud

You protect your home, your jewels, your children, but most of us don’t even think about protecting our own identity. However, this is one of the most important aspects you need to be considering. Need help? Here are some tips for you:

  • Utility bills: Be sure to never leave old bills lying around. Make sure you take them and lock them away in the same or if you have no use for them any more be sure to shred them. This will avoid any missed placed bills.
  • Call your insurance and ask if your policy covers you for identity theft. If it doesn’t, then you defiantly need to be considering a new company as this is basic protection you should be receiving.
  • Create strong passwords for online accounts. Do not use birth dates, phone numbers, or any personal information. Make it random and make sure you don’t tell anyone else or leave them lying around.

Identity theft is no longer a thing of the past. People sit back and say oh, its never going to happen to me, however, these are the same people who are getting their identities stolen. It is worth taking the extra safety step to insure you are protected.
