As the demand for electric vehicles grows and the push for environmental sustainability increases, automakers are gearing up to focus more on the development and promotion of EVs. While EV infrastructure still needs improvement, manufacturers like Ford are preparing to address both traditional combustion engine vehicles and EVs.
Ford has revealed its strategy to split its operations into two separate units: one for traditional vehicle manufacturing and development called Ford Blue, and another for EV manufacturing and development named Ford Model E. Both units will remain within Ford’s operations, leveraging the company’s substantial resources to compete with existing EV startups.
Ford CEO Jim Farley stated, “We are fully committed, establishing distinct yet complementary businesses that provide us with the agility and innovation of a startup in Ford Model E alongside Ford Blue’s expertise in manufacturing, scale, and renowned brands like Bronco that startups can only aspire to.”

Apart from developing and manufacturing EVs, Ford Model E plans to streamline the EV purchasing and ownership experience. The company intends to introduce user-friendly e-commerce platforms, transparent pricing, and personalized customer assistance.
