Snoozing on the job is no way to win over your boss, especially during meetings. We’ve all had that one morning where we just didn’t have time for coffee, and we felt our eyes drooping amidst an important conference call or something of the likes. The fact of the matter is that people all over suffer from falling asleep on the job, but it’s not something to be proud of. Here are some tips to keep you awake during the work day.
First off, keep a drink with you; preferably water filled with ice. The coldness of the ice will shock your body awake, so whenever you feel yourself dozing off, a nice little sip should do the trick. Anything that can provide a sensory shock will alert your brain and perk you up in no time.
Also, make sure you aren’t wearing warm and comfortable clothing that will entice you to take a nap. Wear something both professional yet cooling so you don’t get the urge to drift off. And if you do feel yourself losing your attention span, just pop in a piece of gum and chew away. Trust me, it’s hard to fall asleep with gum in your mouth.
If you wanna go way back into the art of acupuncture, apparently tugging your earlobes will give you a mental restart, but that’s one trick I’ve yet to try. Make sure you’re getting the most of your workday and not snoozing with this list of tips.
