In collaboration since last year, Beyond Meat and PepsiCo’s joint venture, PLANeT Partnership, has been working behind the scenes on their inaugural product launch. Recently, they revealed that their first product is ready for the market.
The initial product from the PLANeT Partnership is meatless jerky made by Beyond Meat. This jerky is packed in a standard snack bag and is available in regular, teriyaki, and hot & spicy flavors. It contains no meat and is instead crafted from the plant-based proteins used by Beyond Meat in their other products. Through careful cooking and seasoning, the jerky replicates the taste and texture of traditional beef jerky.
In February, Beyond Meat’s CEO, Ethan Brown, hinted at the jerky’s development during an earnings call. Brown mentioned, “We have a significant product which I have in my possession right now and have been snacking on during the call. It has been a substantial effort to bring it to fruition, and it’s a wonderful product.”

The PLANeT Partnership aims to leverage Pepsi’s substantial resources to enhance and broaden Beyond Meat’s plant-based product range while providing Pepsi with a swift entryway into the flourishing plant-based food sector.
