An Interesting Job If You Like Delivering Bad News

The modern world is full of interesting ways to make money.

While the peculiarly easier or more exciting jobs may get more headlines, there are also quite a few strange things people can do for money. In fact, in 2019 pretty much everything can be monetized, including the service of delivering bad news.

Jonathan Chalk is a 29 year old construction worker and comedian who decided it’s time to start a business: the business of delivering bad news. The business requires quite a bit of personality to pull off, but the 29 year old comedian has no trouble in that department. Clients pay Chalk to deliver bad news to someone else. According to Chalk, the news he’s paid to share varies significantly in seriousness. He delivers bad news, it’s as simple as that.

While Chalk delivers bad news for clients regularly, there are a few jobs that have stuck out to him. “Some of the most epic calls were a guy who asked me to call his ex-wife and tell her he would no longer pay for child care. When I got in touch with her, she then asked me to call him back to tell him that the child was not his anyway,” Chalk said. Other bad news deliveries include news of cheating, losing a job, and the hard delivery of the fact that someone dresses like an idiot. The business is called “Jon Breaks Bad News.” It would appear Chalk has found a brilliant way to put his blunt personality to good use. So, how can you put your unique qualities to good use and start making money?
