American Express has introduced some enhancements to their AmEx Gold Card, a long-time favorite among users that is expected to become even more appealing.
To mark the occasion, the company will be reintroducing the beloved rose-gold color scheme as well.
Last autumn, American Express relaunched their gold card with a new version offering 4 points for every dollar spent at any US restaurant. In addition, users could earn 4x points at US supermarkets and 3x points on directly booked flights with airlines. The updated offer also included $120 in annual dining credits, or $10 monthly at select chain restaurants. American Express has recently announced significant enhancements to these benefits, making the deal even more attractive.
The primary change to the AmEx Gold card is expanding the 4 points per dollar at US restaurants to include worldwide dining establishments. This is particularly advantageous for frequent travelers. While American Express is not as universally accepted as Mastercard and Visa abroad, this update is excellent news for travelers who enjoy dining out and want to maximize their rewards.
The second modification is the extension of the list of restaurants where users can utilize their dining credits. Additional eateries have been included, and now users can also use this credit for purchases on the wholesale website Boxed. These adjustments coincide with American Express reintroducing the rose-gold version of their card, which was in such high demand during its previous release that the company struggled to fulfill all the requests promptly.
