26,000 Customers Still Without Power After Storms Hit Consumers Energy

Following severe storms on Friday and Saturday, around 194,000 residences and businesses lost power. Consumers Energy has managed to restore most properties back to normal.

About 26,000 Consumers Energy customers are still experiencing power outages across Michigan due to the recent storms. Guy Packard, the vice president of electric operations at Consumers Energy, expressed gratitude for customers’ patience as restoration efforts continue for the fourth day following the destructive storm that hit Michigan last Friday. Packard emphasized that the company’s main focus over the next 16 hours will be to use favorable weather conditions to safely and swiftly restore power to the remaining affected customers. The majority of those without power are expected to have it restored by the end of Tuesday.

Consumers Energy is also providing water and ice to residents in Jenison, near Grand Rapids, MI, in addition to working on power restoration. While there is still uncertainty about the exact timeline for restoring all customers, the company anticipates completing the restoration process by the end of Tuesday.

If you are in the impacted area and need to report an outage or seek information, you can contact the company through their website.
