41% of Small Business Owners Admit They Worry Too Much

A survey conducted by OnePoll for Alarm.com found that 35% of average small business owners bring their work worries home five nights a week. 37% admit that work concerns have ruined an important personal occasion or family event. 41% feel that they worry too much about their business. Their main concern is the economy, closely followed by cash flow, time management, and bills. Business owners also have serious concerns about security and crime prevention, employee trustworthiness, and whether they’ll be able to get everything done.

The average business owner loses about 41 minutes each day to worrying. Even so, 76% of business owners surveyed said they wouldn’t trade places with someone who had a nine to five job. 62% said they’ve worked hard at worrying less and they feel like they’ve made progress in this area.

New technology helps small business owners manage areas of concern. Small business owners are often leaders when it comes to adopting technologies that help them manage their day-to-day tasks even when they are off-site. Technology that helps them cut costs, automate troublesome tasks, stay in control of day-to-day operations, and save time are most in demand. Small business owners are especially concerned about finding technology that is reliable and intuitive.
